Although the year for Southern Californians didn’t start well … with so many citizens and homeowners suffering from the horrible fires in Malibu and in the Pasadena/Altadena areas … thankfully, Californians and the community came together to help and support each other while finding preventable measures in the future, and holding anyone accountable. The struggle continues at this writing, but some relief has taken place for the hundreds who lost their homes, businesses, and life treasures. We’re delighted that Core Contributors Group, Inc. was on hand to personally provide some financial support. We’re committed to standing together with our community: when one hurts, we all hurt!
Meanwhile, there were some great events to lighten the heavy hearts and bring smiles to so many folks! The KJLH 25th Annual Women’s Health Expo (sponsored by the Black Infant Health Program) drew thousands of women to the Long Beach Convention Center from across Southern California. These beautiful women of all ages and backgrounds were not only eager but also dedicated to learning more about building a healthy future for themselves and their entire families. The theme of this free event was: “The Silver Lining: 25 Years of Building Generational Health.”
Because Wellness—improving the health and well-being of others is a primary goal for us at Core Contributors Group, Inc., we were definitely on hand to support and share in this very important event, which was broadcast live on Stevie Wonder’s KJLH Radio station. And of course, Mr. Wonder showed up to the delight of the women who hold him in such high regard!
The expo featured hundreds of exhibitors who gladly showcased their health, wellness, beauty, fitness, and lifestyle products, especially for women and families. There were plenty of great giveaways, too, along with highly-regarded guest speakers and panelists sharing vital info. And to the special delight of the ladies, their “favorite auntie” showed up: Maxine Waters! The long-time beloved Congresswoman took the stage to overwhelming applause, smiles, cheers, and a standing ovation! She shared valuable information about the state of the country and her intention to continue to fight for her community’s best interests.
