Juneteenth Celebrations Drew Huge Crowds Across the Nation!

Juneteenth! Yes! We, at CCG, INC., along with millions of others, won’t forget! There were so many activities throughout Los Angeles County that wouldn’t allow anyone to forget the significance of this major date, even if they deliberately tried! (Realistically, however, we’re sure—and sadly so—that some may have tried and will try continually to erase and mar the truth.)

Museums, businesses, festivals, parks, TV shows, and radio stations delivered the message of Black freedom loud and clear! Juneteenth—now a national holiday, thanks to former U.S. President Joe Biden—commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Citizens of all racial backgrounds showed up in unity of purpose and celebration of freedom, not just in California, but throughout America.

Everywhere you went, you saw smiling faces and a sense of deep joy—obviously a spiritual joy—that most could not explain. They just knew something of true importance had happened hundreds of years ago, and they were now experiencing ancestral benefits and a joy beyond words.

CCG’s Vice President, Bethanee E. Bryant, was out at several venues across Los Angeles, having a wonderful time while proudly representing our non-profit, which is thoroughly vested in our community.

“I met so many friendly people, and I was so proud to chat with them about our non-profit. They were just happy to know an organization like CCG exists for them, our community.” Bethanee added that, “The Juneteenth celebration at the very beloved Leimert Park was ‘lit’.

It’s always such a welcoming and comfortable space for Black people. So, it was just nice to mingle and share beautiful vibes with Black Los Angeles in remembrance of our freedom from enslavement. The Juneteenth celebrations overall were truly special and educational for so many. It helped reinforce our strength and power, our beauty, and our unity of purpose.” Indeed!
